Consultation Paper on Revision of Regulatory Regimes for Fixed-Mobile Convergence
The Office of the Telecommunications Authority ("OFTA") issued today (21 September 2005) a consultation paper to solicit public views on its proposal to pave the way for fixed-mobile convergence ("FMC") by creating a unified carrier license.

2nd Consultation Paper on Licensing Framework for Deployment of Broadband Wireless Access
On 20 Dec 2004, OFTA issued a consultation paper on the licensing framework for deployment of broadband wireless access (BWA) technologies. Having duly considered the submissions received, OFTA presents in the 2nd Consultation Paper proposals for the regulatory framework for deployment of BWA technologies.

Consultation Paper on the Creation of a New License for Services-Based Operators for the Provision of IP Telephony Services
To implement the regulatory framework for IP telephony services as set out in the TA Statement entitled "Regulation of Internet Protocol (IP) Telephony" issued on 20 June 2005 (the TA Statement), the Telecommunications Authority (TA) issues a consultation paper on the creation of a Service-Based Operator (SBO) License for provision of IP Telephony Services and invites comments from the public on the licensing conditions and fee structure of SBO License. The draft SBO License and related documents are attached to the consultation.

Consultation Paper on the Licensing Framework for Deployment of Broadband Wireless
The Office of the Telecommunications Authority (OFTA), on 20 Dec, launched a public consultation to invite views on the licensing framework for deployment of broadband wireless access (BWA). BWA refers to access technologies based on the use of high-capacity radio links to deliver telecommunications services, including broadband services.
