Target Entries
The Developer Challenge is looking for innovative and quality mobile applications for consumers, such as mobile-games, news, shopping, infotainment, and personal productivity tools etc.
Eligibility
The Challenge is open to developers working on a BlackBerry application. In order to be eligible, developers may be individuals residents (including students), or companies located anywhere.
All submissions must NOT be officially published on BlackBerry platform BEFORE 1 Nov 2009

The applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

• Appeal (Stickiness & Fun)
• Quality (Reliable & Clearly Defined Value Proposition)

Entry Submission (Submission has closed)
Entrant must submit with:
• A hard-copy of the completed entry form in print
• A CD copy of this Entry Form and softcopy of the application
• The form of declaration and indemnity in “Disclaimer” duly completed with authorised signature and company chop.
Entrants must submit the abovementioned materials on or before 5:00pm on 30 December 2009 to:

Registration Timeline
Technical Enquiry Session
• A technical enquiry session will be held on 3 Dec 2009
• Interested parties can make appointment with our contest technical consultant for assistance on technical issues for application development on BlackBerry platform
• All Technical advice, SDKs and simulators provided by the Sponsor will be made available at the official website (http://www.blackberry.com/developers)
• Email your name, title, company and TWO preferred timeslots (from 10:00 - 17:00) to blackberry@hkwtia.org

Rules & Regulations
• By submitting an application, a participant represents and warrants that (a) the application is the participant's own original work and (b) the participant is the owner of or has obtained and currently holds valid and sufficient rights to the application, including all necessary intellectual property rights and will not infringe on the copyright or the intellectual property of others.
• Each participant agrees to immediately notify Organizers when the participant discovers that there is any change in the ownership of the application concept or entry as acknowledged and represented herein
• Each participant also agrees to release, indemnify, defend and hold the Organizers harmless from any and all claims, liabilities, losses and damages (including without limitation attorney's fees) related to the participant's entry in the contest
• Applicants shall bear responsibility for any summons arising from a possible breach of copyright
• The following people are not allowed to enter the contest
- Employees of Organizers and Sponsors and their relatives
- Executive Committee Members of Organizers
- Members of Working Committee
• The Organizers reserve the rights to reject or disqualify any entry for any reason. The decision of the Panel of Judges is final
• All entries remain the property of their respective owners. However, Sponsors reserve the priority to discuss partnership with the shortlisted candidates
• The participants, if requested, agrees to participate in publicity events organized for the Contest such as press briefing, award presentation ceremony etc
• The Organizers accepts no liability for any technical difficulties affecting the end result of the contest, the entry or delivering the application to the contest
• The Organizers retains all rights and control over the application development contest, criteria of judging the applications, the award of prizes on any grounds it deems suitable
• By submitting any entries, participant agrees to abide by and be bound by these Rules and Regulations of the contest and the decision of the judges and the organizers.
• Any cash prizes unclaimed within 60 days will be donated to charity. Any other form of prizes unclaimed within 60 days will be forfeited
• The Rules and Regulations are subject to change by the Organizers when necessary. The Organizers reserve the rights to amend the rules of the Contest without prior announcement
